Simon Fletcher, BSc MSc PhD C.Psychol
Executive Development Consultant
Centre for Customised Executive Development

Simon joined Cranfield’s Centre for Customised Executive Development in November 2006. Simon has worked across a wide variety of industries in the private sector, including automotive, telecoms, finance and IT. Prior to joining Cranfield, Simon was a management consultant for Tribal Group, specialising in consultancy predominantly on behalf of public sector clients.

Whilst with Tribal, Simon administered two major development programmes for central government clients, and was responsible for the coordination of the design, delivery and evaluation of these programmes throughout the life of the contracts. This necessitated liaison and negotiation with multiple stakeholders, both within the client organisations, but in addition with a number of academic partners.

Simon is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist and worked in this capacity undertaking consultancy within a number of public and private sector organisations in the UK and internationally. In the public sector, Simon has worked extensively with the Department for Work and Pensions and Environment Agency, and has in addition worked with the Home Office, Department for Education and Skills, the Department of Health and the MoD.

Simon holds a BSc in Psychology, an MSc in Applied Psychology and a PhD, which was concerned with enhancing driver primary safety. Simon holds the British Psychological Society’s Level A and B certificates, and has experience in using a number of psychometric instruments with senior executives, (for example MBTI, OPQ32) in both UK based and international settings. Simon is additionally qualified as an Ergonomist.

 

Philippa Thurgur    BA

Philippa started her career as a designer in the clothing industry. She went on to develop this role, spending 8 years working in the licensing industry for some of the top British clothing brands, travelling extensively to Australasia, the Middle East and Europe advising licensees on the parameters of possible development of the brands within the context of their own climatic and cultural requirements. Philippa then spent a further 7 years as an Account Manager in the clothing industry, sourcing and developing clothing ranges from Asia and Europe exclusively for her clients; the UK high street fashion retailers and department stores.

Since joining Cranfield in 2003, Philippa has worked within the School of Management with faculty specialising in Organisational Behaviour. She now works for the Centre for Customised Executive Development and coordinates the team that manage the operations of the Assessment & Development Service for corporate clients. Her role includes coordinating and managing the running of assessment and development centres, developing bespoke 360 degree feedback tools with clients, researching and sourcing psychometric instruments and manages the team handling the day to day administration of psychometric and development tools for client programmes. Examples of the client organisations Philippa has worked with include: RBS, HSBC, Ministry of Defence, Mott MacDonald, Sony, Saint Gobain, Acergy, Cable and Wireless, United Nations, Grainger, Connaught, Bertlesmann and EDF.
